MS or BS?

Unfortunately my symptoms continue to get worse, and as I desperately search for relief I am coming up blank. If you deal with neuropathic pain frequently then you know that it is near impossible to describe it, as well as extremely difficult to treat.

Haters gonna hate

Everyone that has an SCI would rather get bladder/bowel control back over being able to walk. That begs the question: While I got bladder control back over 4 months ago, why have I only told a handful of people?

Back to the grind

Due to a few health related issues I have not been working out (at home/gym) much lately, but I decided that I MUST get back to the grind of working as hard as I can daily. Before a few months ago, really my only 2 priorities were: getting bowel/bladder control back and walking. While doctors have told me since day 1 that there is not really anything I can do to help get bowel or bladder control back, I personally feel that working out (hard) daily has helped these 2 start returning the past few months.

Managing my pain naturally

It is absolutely absurd that marijuana is still considered a Schedule 1 "drug". Forget legalizing it, things need to go through certain steps first and legalizing it for recreational use is one of the last steps. The first is to remove it from the list of Schedule 1 substances (has ZERO medical benefits?) so that our country's fine research institutions/universities can finally conduct the proper research regarding marijuana.

Working hard

So I haven't posted in a while, over the past few weeks I have really strengthed my right quad. Over the past couple of months or so I have gone to the gym or worked out at home almost daily, leg/shoulder/bench pressing every other day as well as doing various dumbbell excercises at home. Just in the past week I have gone from being able to single leg (right) press 130 pounds just a few times to being able to leg press 150 from the starting position 8 times. I was also able to put all of my body weight through my right leg while standing yesterday at Project Walk.

Push-ups on medicine balls

Yesterday I had my hardest workout to date at Project Walk Orlando, I am still surpised I was able to do this. This defines the mentality I have always had from when I was injured, I may fail and fall at first but I always try and get back up and accomplish whatever I am trying to do. Here is a video of me doing push-ups using 2 6 pound medicine balls.

Taste/smell and medical issues update

So I have not mentioned on here that as a result of my injury I lost my sense of taste and my sense of smell. Total loss occured for the first 14 months after my injury, but since then these two senses have been returning. I do not have any memory of what things used to smell or taste like, and initially everything smelled and tasted extremely bad but for the past 6 months I think things are returning to their normal smell/taste. Since I have zero memory of what things used to smell/taste like, I am now reteaching myself what to correlate with certain smells or tastes.
